Get to know me
Background
I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Food Industry Management. First, I took a role with a third-party logistics company, where I was promoted to Key Account Manager. Then, I left logistics to join a regional superstore chain as a Procurement Associate where I purchased and designed store fixtures and merchandising equipment. In the background, I taught myself graphic design and eventually left that role to start my own company: Hollern Design Co. Five years of running Hollern Design Co. and one move across the country later, I joined Nike as a communications graphic designer in 2017.
Me In Three Words
Curious
Curiosity fuels my creativity. It helps me keep an open mind when approaching any project. Why is something a certain way, how does it work, and how can it work better? These are just a few questions always circling my mind.
Creative
Seizing upon my curiosity, my creative side allows me to imagine how to improve on existing solutions, or come up with entirely new pathways. My goal: To cultivate an experience that resonates with an audience. I work backwards to visualize a user experience that will leave a lasting impression.
Mechanical
It's the combination of my insatiable curiosity and ever-present creativity that makes ideas become reality. My mechanical aptitude grants me the ability to take a project from the base of an idea to the execution of a finished product. It doesn't matter if the project is an infographic, a new way of workflow, or a one-off physical experience — my mechanical side grows through ingenuity and the love of challenge.
